As for insects and creepy crawlies, weirdly, I have a soft spot for the much-maligned spider, but earwigs, woodlice, grubs, slugs and bluebottles totally spook me (especially earwigs, and they nip too). However, your 'Meet the Relatives' is delightful, so perhaps I won't squash Edna or throw Boris over the fence and into the alley. Even so, I am still not convinced the world needs mosquitos or bluebottles, does it?!<br />Paeony Lewishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13129555451791248798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758609568631190155.post-50045195974419967372019-04-10T16:47:36.918+01:002019-04-10T16:47:36.918+01:00Fireflies are magical - and so are Britta's il...Fireflies are magical - and so are Britta's illustrations! The first time I read it I was in my local book store and I had an embarrasing laugh our loud moment. Thankfully the shop wasn't that busy. I'm fascinated by insects. My insect character (Florence, in Firefly Home, illustrated by Britta Teckentrup) was inspired by the nightly light shows I saw in the USA.Jane Clarkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01361379190770989657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758609568631190155.post-21344908980676959152019-04-08T13:20:56.914+01:002019-04-08T13:20:56.914+01:00Fantastic - thank you for letting me know!Fantastic - thank you for letting me know!Mini Greyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12089779125262631356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3758609568631190155.post-14522737505953356822019-04-08T13:20:17.630+01:002019-04-08T13:20:17.630+01:00Thanks for the recommendation Garry! Not a picture book but a truly inspirational story of how an area of devastated farmland is transformed back into an environment where insects and other wildlife thrive.Garry Parsonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08307848045385724621noreply@blogger.com
