OK. After five years of blogging on the Den, this is me singing off. Lah de dah.
Nothing like bowing out at the top.
(Here's me on Everest, a couple of weeks ago. Well, at Base Camp, but I'm telling you...)
I may come back and do the occasional guest blog, if they'll let me, but it's time to move on.
Thanks for tuning in to my witterings over the years. We've had over half a million page views to the Den, since we started, which is very gratifying.
And thanks, all of you, for playing your part in the wonderful world of picture books. No better place.
Thanks for all your wonderful contributions to the Den over the last few years, Malachy. And the best of luck with future projects!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yourself, you rascal. Please do keep dropping in for a virtual cuppa and a chat about books x
ReplyDeleteWe'll miss you Malachy! Keep in touch xx
ReplyDeleteHave fun -and thanks for introducing me to the 'Den, way back... x
ReplyDeleteNice hat! Hope to see you back as an honoured guest.
ReplyDeleteYou've done wonderful posts about your very lovely books and your very lovely home and family, and to bow out from the top of the world is quite something! Thank you, Malachy, and, YES, do come back and tell us things on the Den site whenever you have something to say.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your posts, and for glimpses of your world and your books - as well as from the top of the mountain. Please do call into Picture Den again sometimes. I'll miss your words and musings.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kind words. And if you want to keep up with my thoughts, books and exploits, I'm happy to befriend any Den readers via Facebook.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Malachy, and all the best on your further adventures.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about your singing being off, but if you say so I'll believe it ;-) You should hear mine. . But as for signing off, is that from the Den or from kid's books generally? Sorry to see you go whichever. BTW denizens, thanks for letting me slide off the radar gracefully over the last few months ;-) We moved house and are now lurking in the lovely countryside just south of Norwich and loving it. Sorry to say I don't miss the world of kids books at all. Yet.
ReplyDeleteAnyway Malachy, best of luck with whatever life brings you ;-)

Great to hear from you Jonathan, and to hear that life's good. Ah no, I just feel like taking a break from the blogging. Not giving up the writing just yet...
ReplyDeleteI've always really enjoyed your blog posts, Malachy. I suspect I know where you're coming from because nowadays I do a lot of head scratching to think of something new I can write about picture books. Perhaps we should start repeating ourselves - wonder if anybody would notice?!
